19th Sept. 2013 (15th day of 8th month in Chinese lunar calendar) is the Mid-autumn Festival. The teachers and students from Confucius Institute for Business, London, together with CIBL’s guests and friends successfully celebrated the festival with Chinese talent shows in the theme of ‘Moon’ on 18th Sept. Over fifty guests including LSE professors, representatives from companies, and journalists  joined the event and all the attendants not only enjoyed the delicious food, but also learnt the culture of Mid-autumn Festival. On this day, people were fully exposed to the traditional Chinese culture by a talk on Mid-autumn Festival by Mr. Achim Roseman, the songs of ’ming yue ji shi you’ by Mr Alistair Stark and ’The Moon Represents my Heart’ by Mr. Neil Selby from CKGSB, a Chinese poem by Ms. Dorota Rejman and Mr. Mark Maloney, and the Chinese paintings shown by Mr. Ian Owens from HSBC. Students were all attracted to the spot with happy festival atmosphere at CIBL.

Mid-Autumn Festival, which started over 2000 years ago, has been one of the greatest traditional festivals in China. All the attendants at the CIBL have tasted the sweetness of moon cakes on this eventful day, experienced the customs and further understood traditional Chinese culture. CIBL provides a platform to promote the communication between academia, business, the media and our students.
