On the 21st of October 2013，Professor Ni Shixiong, ex-director of the International Relationship Department, Fudan University, was invited to deliver a public speech organized by the Confucius Institute for Business London at the LSE. He spoke on the topic " China Peaceful Rise & Its New Diplomacy and Its Global Relevance to the Chinese Economy”. The speech was chaired by Prof. Luo Lisheng, the China Director of Confucius Institute for Business London.
The speech began at 6:30pm with around 120 participants from the LSE. Professor Ni focused on the issues such as ‘Why China chose a way for its peaceful rise, how to achieve it, and what impact of China's peaceful rise will have on the world’s economy’. He also discussed China’s new diplomacy which could well fit into the concept of “the peaceful rise”.
After the speech, Prof. Ni answered the questions raised by the audience. The speech ended successfully amidst loud applause.
