'Re-measuring the world: China's Global Development Impact' speech by Prof. Helmut Reisen

Professor Helmut Reisen from Shifting Wealth Berlin & Basel University gave a lecture titled 'Re-measuring the world: China’s Global Development Impact' on the 5 March at the Old Building, LSE. This public lecture was chaired by Prof. Danny Quah and was a joint event by Confucius Institute for Business London, LSE IDEAS and LSE Department of International Relations to provide a great platform to let more people know about China. About 80 people were in attendance.

The lecture focused on: Concerns and Perspectives, China Recalibrates the World Economy, China´s Development Impact: Global & ´Bilateral´, China´s Future Development Impact and China in the Global Aid Architecture. Professor Helmut Reisen discussed the impact of China´s economic growth on poor countries over the recent decades.

At the end of the lecture, Professor Helmut Reisen answered the questions raised by the audience and his speech was warmly received since it contained detailed statistics and a historic perspective. (CIBL Di Yun)
