Confucius Institute for Business London (CIBL) hosted the Moon Festival Party at LSE on 29 September 2012. More than 60 guests attended this event, including representatives from the London business community, students of CIBL and other friends of the Institute.
Miss Sophie Dilley introduced the tale and traditions of the Moon Festival to the guests. Joseph Anderson, 13 years-old, and Mr Marian Masar, a freelance writer and student of CIBL, read poems from the Tang dynasty about the Moon Festival. All the guests tried moon cakes, the traditional food of Moon Festival. The most popular programme on the party was a food competition. In order to cope with modern life, we encouraged young people to cook in a quick and easy way. CIBL volunteers and teachers brought their homemade Chinese dishes and desserts for everyone to taste.
The party offered a great opportunity for people to know more about the traditional Chinese Moon Festival, as well as a good chance to meet new friends, share information and extend their social network.
