  樂曲根據江南民間音樂改編，充分展示了江南人民節日喜慶的熱烈場面，具有濃郁的江南風格和時代特點。
  Celebration
  This piece of music adapted materials from Jiangnan folk music and fully demonstrates the enjoyment when Jiangnan people celebrate their festivals, with outstanding Jiangnan style and times' character.
• 茉莉花
  根據江蘇民歌改編。旋律流暢婉轉，節奏穩重而富於變化，音樂形象鮮明，充滿了詩情畫意。
  Jasmine Flower
  This piece of music adapted materials from Jiangsu folk music. The music has gently flowing melody, modest but varied rhythm, and is filled with vivid and poetic pictures.
• 雪山春曉
  該曲描繪了青藏高原冰雪消融、春光明媚的魅力景色。表達了西藏人民對祖國家鄉的無比熱愛以及對幸福生活的嚮往。
  The Early Spring Morning on the Snow Mountain
  The music depicts the melting of snow on a beautiful spring morning of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, expresses the strong love for motherland and beautiful wants of happy life Of the Tibetan people.

  樂曲具有鮮明的湖南花鼓音樂特色，時而跌宕激情，時而流暢如歌，清新美妙的旋律，表現了湘江兩岸生機勃發的自然風光和人民對家鄉未來的美好憧憬。
  The Spring of Xiangjiang River
  This piece of music has a distinct Hunan Flower Drum flavor, and a kind of fresh and beautiful melody varying from passion to smoothness, showing a flourishing nature beauty along Xiangjiang River and local people's better vision towards the future of their hometown.

  樂曲根據江蘇錫劇曲牌《老黃調》改編而成。曲調活潑歡快，短小精悍，極富江南地方特色。
  South Melody of Jiangsu
  This music adapted minerals from Jiangsu Drama Tune, "Huang notes". The melody is lively, cheerful and pithy, with highly Jiangnan local characteristics.
• 賽馬
  樂曲根據中國北方少數民族蒙古族音樂創作而成。將蒙古風格的音階和節奏同漢族音樂中常用的裝飾音巧妙地結合使用，使樂曲即有歡快奔騰的場景，又有抒情般地歌唱景象，展現了內蒙人民在節日賽馬的熱烈景象。
  Horse Racing
  This piece of music is created based on folk music of northern China's Mongolian ethnic minority, and skillfully combines the Mongolian-style scales and rhythms with embellishment of Chinese Han music, making the music cheerful and lyrical, and shows a lively scene as Inner Mongolian people celebrate the horse racing holiday.
• 駝鈴響叮噹
  樂曲根據新疆維吾爾族民間樂曲改編，具有濃郁的西域風情，以及清新別緻的旋律，熱情奔放的節奏，描繪了古絲綢之路上，一支駱駝商隊由遠而來，駝鈴聲聲，小憩時，人們圍著篝火，歡歌躍舞，最後駱駝隊漸漸遠去，消失在大漠深處......
  Camel Caravan Bells
  The music adapted minerals from Xinjiang Uygur folk music with rich Chinese Western style, has a fresh and unique melody, as well as an enthusiasm rhythm. It depicts a story that on the ancient Silk Road, a camel caravan came from a faraway place, with the bells rang continuously .The people sang and danced happily around the campfire when they were in the rest .In the end, the camel caravan went far away gradually, disappeared in the desert ... ...
• 鳳陽花鼓
  根據安徽民歌改編。樂曲歡快熱烈，風趣幽默，具有獨特的鄉土氣息。
  Flower Drum in Fengyang
  This music adapted minerals from Anhui folk music. The melody is cheerful, lively, and humorous, with a unique local flavor.
• 江南好
  根據江南名曲《歡樂歌》改編而成。樂曲流暢優美、清澈秀麗，具有典型的江南絲竹韻味。
  This music adapted materials from Jiangnan folk music. It has a kind of fresh and beautiful melody. Combined with Chinese wind and stringed music ,the piece of music shows a typical jiangnan flavor .
• 秦淮燈市
  根據江南民間樂曲創作而成。樂曲表現了秦淮河畔的人們正月十五鬧元宵，觀燈會的熱烈場面，展現了六朝古都的獨特風韻。
  Lantern Bazaar along Qinhuai River
  This music is based on Jiangnan folk music, depicting the lively moment when people along Qinhuai River celebrate the Lantern Festival, and demonstrates the unique charm of the ancient capital of the Six Dynasties.
• 十面埋伏
  此曲描述古代楚漢相爭，在垓下決戰的場面。樂曲以多種指法和節奏表達戰前的氣氛；從列營、軍鼓、吹打、點將、排陣、埋伏等推至戰鬥時刀槍交接和吶喊的局面。全曲既有動盪緊張的情緒，亦有激昂振奮的氣勢。
  Ambush by All Sides
  The music describes a fierce battle between the ancient Chu and Han in the area of Gaixia. The music uses a variety of fingering and rhythm to express the pre-war atmosphere ranging from arranging camps, beating military drums, bugling, assigning generals, arraying, ambushing to the shouting and fighting of the sword and spear. The whole music is not only in an atmosphere of tension, but also has a passionate momentum.
• 瑤族舞曲
  樂曲根據民間舞曲《長鼓歌舞》改編而成，豐富、生動的展現了瑤族民眾歡歌熱舞的喜慶場面。樂曲用優美的旋律，表現了能歌善舞的瑤族人民的生活情貌。
  Dance Music of Yao Nationality
  This piece of music is adapted from folk dance music "Long Drum Sing and Dance", vividly depicting the jubilation of Yao ethnic people in song and dance. Through beautiful melody, the music demonstrates the living conditions of singing and dancing Yao ethnic people.
• 紅樓夢主題曲
  曲調委婉柔美，空靈悲愁，如泣如訴，高潮部分悲情哀怨，感人至深，尾聲回歸寧靜空靈，詮釋了寶黛愛情的一種唯美和超凡脫俗的意境。
  Prelude of Dream of the Red Chamber
  The melody of this music is euphemistic and heavy-hearted. The climax part expresses a moving feeling of tragic laments, the end part return to tranquility, demonstrating a refined and extraordinary love of Bao and Dai.
• 花好月圓
  樂曲由江南絲竹式的《花好月圓》改編成民族管弦樂，表現了人們在花叢月下輕歌曼舞、盡情歡樂的場面。
  Blooming Flowers and Full Moon
  This music is developed from Jiangnan style performance into national orchestra performance, depicting the scene that people cheerfully dancing around the flowers under the moonlight.

VARIFAIR Film Festival is a one week Chinese film exhibition week focusing on 'New Chinese Cinema'. During the week, directors from China and UK will join our festival, sharing their new works with us, where up to 20 cutting-edge films will be screened including award winning films, fictions, independent pieces and documentaries.

Highlights of the festival are the attendance of award winning directors from UK and China. Almost twenty well-known Chinese filmmakers are anticipated to attend, including director Gu Changwei China's most acclaimed 'fifth generation' director at work today and 2005's Best Director (Silver Bear) at Berlin, who will introduce his new film "Li Chun: And the Spring Comes" (2008) and the 'sixth generation' directors Wang Xiaoshuai (Silver Bear Award Berlin) with his "Zuo You: In Love We Trust" (2008), as well as film stars Zhang Jingchu, Jiang Wenli, Tao Hong and Zhou Yun, to name a few.

十二月十五日，英国文化委员会在伦敦政治经济学院进行了英国青少年中文口语比赛，商务孔子学院也参与协助了此项活动。孔子学院员工Sam Duckett还受邀担任了比赛的裁判。

On the 12th December the British council organised a Chinese language talent show, for English students who have been studying Chinese at school. The Confucius Institute also helped with this event. Sam Duckett of the Confucius Institute participated as a panel judge for this event.

十二月十三日，商务孔子学院员工Sam参与英国国家广播电台（BBC）举办的中国文化活动。On the 12th December 2009, The BBC organised a Chinese culture Christmas show, in which Sam Duckett participated in this event.

十二月三日，商务孔子学院联合伦敦政治经济学院亚洲研究中心举办了公共演讲。该次演讲者为中国驻英国大使傅莹女士，其演讲题目为："世界与中国的变化"。
On the 3rd December 2009, The Confucius Institute hosted a public lecture which was given by Miss. Fu Ying of the Chinese Embassy. The public lecture discussed current changes of the world and in China.

十一月五日，商务孔子学院再次主办了公共演讲，此次讲座的演讲者为伦敦政治经济学院经济系主任Danny Quah，演讲的主题为"中国的经济发展"
On the 5th November 2009, The Confucius institute hosted another public lecture. The lecture was given by the London school of economics and Political sciences head of economics Danny Quah who was introduced by Nick Byrne. The lecture discussed China's economic development.

On the 13th October 2009, The Confucius Institute organised a public lecture. The lecture was given by the chairman of the London School of economics and political science, Sir Howard Davis. The main topic of the lecture was on China's financial reform.

"Confucius institute scholarship" program

To provide people around the world who are interested in Chinese language learning with more opportunities to further their studies, and to provide more resources for individual Confucius Institutes, the Confucius Institute Headquarters has set up the "Confucius Institute Scholarship" Program starting 2009. Individual Confucius Institutes are one of the organizations that can recommend applications. Please find the details in the application forms. Chinese language institute launched at LSE

A Confucius Institute for Business London, has been launched at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). The launch was celebrated with the unveiling of a plaque by Chairman Jia Qinglin, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, chairman of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. The Chairman also presented a statue of Confucius to the School.

The Confucius Institute for Business London aims to promote Chinese for business to the local community and foster greater understanding of business culture in China. This is the sixth Confucius Institute to be established in the UK, but the first of its kind.

Nick Byrne, director of the LSE Language Centre, where the institute will be based, explained: 'The initiative with LSE is slightly different to other institutes, in that it has an explicit business focus. In the first instance the focus will be on Chinese language for specific purposes, that is, Chinese for business. The longer term will include promoting educational co-operation between China and the UK.'

LSE has seen a demand for Chinese language classes from students in recent years. This demand is set to increase, particularly with the School's new programmes such the LSE-Peking University double degree in International Affairs and the LSE-Fudan degree in Global Media.

Chairman Jia said the launch of the Institute was a milestone in providing business, language and cultural opportunities for those developing Chinese and UK links. 

LSE Director Howard Davies thanked Chairman Jia and other distinguished guests for helping the School to celebrate the launch. He said: 'At LSE there are more than 500 undergraduate and postgraduate students from mainland China and around 300 from the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong. We welcome this venture as one of a number of international initiatives we are developing with academics and organisations in China.'

HE Zhai Peixin, China's ambassador to the UK, was a guest of honour at the launch, as was HE Zheng Wantong, Sir Stephen Green of HSBC; Martin Eadon of Deloitte & Touche LLP; Bryan Sanderson of Standard Chartered; Iain Conn of BP and Sir Adrian Swire of John Swires & Sons Ltd.

The Confucius Institute for Business London, is backed financially by sponsors HSBC, Deloitte and Touche, Standard Chartered Bank, BP, and John Swire and Sons.

Other guests at the launch included Sir Anthony Battishill, governor of LSE; Professor Sarah Worthington, pro-director; Professor HU Dongcheng, vice chairman of the University Council, Tsinghua University, and members of the LSE Students' Union Chinese Development Society.
