Summer Service and Learning Program in Rural China

 

The Summer Service and Learning Program in Rural China (SSLP) was initiated by Tsinghua University. Every summer, 180 Tsinghua volunteers and 150 volunteers from other regions and countries, who show a sincere commitment to voluntary work, are dispatched in 30 teams to perform voluntary services in 30 counties throughout rural China. Volunteers can provide diversified services to the local students in those rural counties, including English teaching, social survey conducting, lectures and intercultural communication exercises. The programme will provide help volunteers to discover and understand more about China.

Time and Duration     2 weeks in July 

Grant Includes   

 Housing and subsidy for food in Tsinghua University

 Subsidy for room and food in rural locations

 Round-trip travel fees between Beijing and rural location

 Accidental insurance for all the volunteers.

 Certificates issued by Tsinghua University

Programme Fees     

 US $490 program registration fee

 International travel fee, round-trip air travel to and from Beijing

Each applicant is required to submit an application form , a scanned copy of their student card, a scanned copy of your passport personal information page and  liability waiver agreement with signature by email. The closing date for application is the second Friday of April.
