Scholarship Summary
This programme is organized jointly by LSE, Tsinghua University and Hanban with the aim of enabling young professionals from London to visit Tsinghua University to explore Chinese language and culture. These young professionals will learn business Chinese language and culture while also getting to know local Chinese business professionals and learn about China business operations. It is hoped that this will lead to being enhance Sino-British cooperation in various fields.
There are 30 places available and participants will spend 2 weeks in Beijing taking part in a series of tailor-made intensive Chinese language programmes, including 3 hours of language learning per day plus field trips and culture talk. The programme is designed by the Tsinghua University International Chinese Language & Culture Center (ICLCC) and provides a great opportunity to experience the real China at one of the world’s best universities!

Requirements

Applicants should be aged between 18 and 35 years old.

Places are limited and priority will be given to CIBL students although all applications will be considered

All applicants will be expected to attend the CIBL Pre-Departure Training Course. For details of the content covered please follow this link to the 2016 schedule

NOTE: This will be refunded when CIBL receives scanned copies of the applicant’s confirmed flight tickets. By paying the £200 deposit applicants are confirming that they will take part in the programme. If, for whatever reason, an applicant pays the deposit and cannot attend this will NOT be refunded.

After submitting your documents please contact Ms Chunli LI to arrange a language assessment and brief interview. Chunli LI will have access to all your application form during the assessment.
Applicant selection

One week after the application deadline there will be a meeting of the CIBL selection committee to decide which applicants have been accepted

After the meeting you will be informed whether your application has been successful or if you have been placed on the waiting list
Successful applicants
